YouTube Partner Program and Advertiser-Friendly Guidelines: YouTube’s Rules of the Road (Part 3)

Welcome back to this three-part series about YouTube’s rules of the road. In the first two videos we talked about
Community Guidelines and copyright. In this last video,
I’ll get into how the YouTube Partner Program and our advertiser-friendly guidelines work. Now that you’ve posted
content that complies with those what else could there be? Well, in order to make money on YouTube you need to join
the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). We built policies for YPP
with the goal of rewarding creators who work hard on unique and original content. The success
of the YouTube Partner Program relies on advertisers willing to
associate their brands with YouTube videos. If they lose trust in YouTube,
it can hurt the earnings of all creators. So, we don’t allow egregious behavior that has a large negative impact
on the community. This means you should
be respectful of your viewers, your fellow creators, and our advertisers — both on and off YouTube. For an overview of each YPP policy, click the Card
in the top right hand corner of this video. Once you’re in YPP
you can make money from features like channel memberships,
Super Chat, or even create your own merch. You can also run ads on your videos but, in order to
make money from ads on YouTube your content must follow YouTube’s
advertiser-friendly content guidelines. Brands come to YouTube
to connect with potential customers but it’s important to them that their advertisements only show
on content that aligns with their brand. Because of that,
we’ve worked closely with advertisers and based on their feedback,
have created advertiser-friendly guidelines. Advertiser-friendly content
is appropriate for most audiences it doesn’t include sensitive themes like sexually suggestive material
or drug consumption. Some brands are willing to
show their ads on more mature content but if your video contains mature themes it might receive
less revenue from ads overall because fewer brands
are interested in showing ads on your video. To learn more about
advertiser-friendly guidelines, click here. And that’s it! We hope this was a helpful overview
of YouTube’s Community Guidelines basic copyright,
YouTube Partner Program policies and advertiser-friendly guidelines. These systems all work together to keep YouTube safe,
legal, and allow you to make money so be sure to familiarize yourself with the ones that make sense
for the way you intend to use YouTube. If you missed any of these three videos,
please go back and check them out. Thanks!

  1. It would be nice to know WHY a video gets flagged as "not suitable for most advertisers". I recently had a video flagged. After reading through my description, I am pretty sure I know why. Your algorithm flagged on a single word with multiple meanings that was taken out of context. I had the video manually reviewed, and it was unflagged. Meanwhile, I lost pretty much all revenue from that video for the first 24 hours. It took me almost a week to get a similar number of views as the first 24 hours. Kind of discouraging after having spent 3 days working on the video.

  4. Could we get a video or article that clarifies the new changes coming in January? Crafters, gamers and cosplayers are being told they will be affected, when they aren’t making content for people under 13. Will the makeup, nail art, homeschooling communities be affected too? People need clear guidelines. Minecraft, Zelda, Pokémon, dollhouses, miniatures, cosplay, arts and crafts, etc doesn’t necessarily mean someone is making content for children. There needs to be a way to differentiate between adult hobbies and interests, and making content geared to kids.

  5. I need your help with something YouTube I have been watching my analog for a week now it says I lost one Subscriber and got about 8 but the number of subs on my page keeps dropping what is wrong 😯🤔😧😕✌👍👍

  6. I've been waiting for monetization for 2 months, I know that my channel this act for this function, I would like to know why they don't accept me

  7. I have a question, i have my own channel now, however i want to create new different type of content, so my question is:

should i create new channel or just create a playlist on my current channel ?

  8. Memberships are still a YouTube governed feature not rolled out all channels matching the published criteria. This detail is always missing from YouTube published content and is not helpful for those meeting the criteria (by a LONG way) and waiting for it to be enabled.

  9. Hello, I would love to know if translating or more like explaining and talking about a song meaning in another language ok ? or can that eventually cause me trouble? just new at this and figure I get it right before I put my heart and soul into it. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.

  10. Is it possible that YT point out what videos are being branded as "reused" (and thus not eligible for monetization;) than demonitizing the whole channel? The channel owners may be more happy to delete those videos.

  11. There is something very bad about youtube partner program team. They take too long to reply to creator about acceptance in the program. Mine been more 6 months no reply every time i tweet the youtube team in twitter they answer same answer very unprofessional and rough-less…

  12. There was a time when foul language was considered wrong, immoral, crude, rude, etc. Nowadays people have decided it is only wrong if you really mean to hurt certain protected status people. We live in country where disrespecting certain groups of people with words is banned, but disrespecting God is our "right" and allowed by YouTube.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:19-20

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

  13. Bạn chia sẽ rỏ và cụ thể lắm, mình đã hiểu muốn chở thành đối tác của youtube là phải như thế nào

  14. This video is the last clip that also useful to all youtubers, to follow the youtube community guideline, coryrights guideline, advertisers's friendly guideline, and TPP, all youtubers have to create the original contents to upload on youtube in order to make money.
Thanks in advance to youtube team that show us.

  15. i hope these rules would affect not only to those small youtubers, as observed some million subs youtubers dont mind the guidelines (the language particularly) and are still not apprehended…

  17. obrigado, sou um criador muito recente no youtube eu segui as 3 dicas anteriores do começo ao fim,e foi de grande ajuda para me entender como as diretrizes de comunidade do youtube funciona obrigado!

  18. YouTube NEEDS to be clear with the creators. Is very frustrating when you have a problem there's no one to help you from YouTube. I'm from the YPP for years and I have my adsense enable but YouTube has me disable already 2 years. When the 1,000 subs and the 4,000 watch time they took me out. I found out a while back that it's to get the YPP. WHICH I have. I haven't received no information on why. I'm just a disabled gardener. all the videos are mine. To top it all I started with over 3 and some what thousands now I have 1 and some what thousands and I make 3 to 4 videos a week . I'm starting to think is this worth it? I think that 2 years is enough.

  19. Actually your explanation provided a summary of the meaning of the guidelines of the forum and followed to make a profit …. Greetings and thanks Mahalt

  21. Not everyone is happy with YouTube, you knew collecting data with permission. As results of fines alot good creators are getting hurt and well ones just doing cooking videos or regular crafting videos. I feel some toy channel creators never cross line and they getting punished for no reasons. Viewers are questioning your decide and forgotten who help build this site. Many creators who follow feel throw them under bus and that not right. You need relook at your decisions and make this right for all creators and future ones as well.
